Phil Simms

Phil brings a diverse background in martial arts, coaching, and education. He is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Brown Belt with 17 years of training experience and has spent the past decade as an assistant coach, helping develop students on and off the mats.

Beyond his work in Jiu-Jitsu, Phil plays a key creative role within the team as our resident artist, overseeing and approving all visual materials and design direction.

His coaching experience spans multiple disciplines, including serving as a Certified Rifle Instructor and Coach with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, a badminton coach, and an Assistant Junior Boys Rugby Coach at Rothesay Netherwood School. Professionally, Phil is also an academic instructor at Rothesay Netherwood School, where he teaches ESL, Critical Thinking, Media Studies, and Digital Art, bringing a thoughtful and well-rounded approach to everything he does.
